To our wonderful customers, thank you

From Adam Pearl

About a year ago I sat down and wrote a message to many of you. It was an extremely unusual time for all of us. Not unlike now, but with a large number of unknowns added to the stress of the times. Fisherman’s Market, like many other businesses, was in flux not knowing if we could get products, let alone keep our doors open.

We asked for your help. We asked for you all to tell your friends and families that we were open and we wanted to stay open. You responded. You helped us stay the course and keep going. We kept our doors open. kept our staff working. All of them throughout the province. We tightened up our sanitation programs and had many meetings with all staff to ensure the safety of them and of you all. We lost a large portion of our wholesale business due to our friends in the restaurant business being seriously hampered by all of this. But in the end, Fisherman’s Market has been a solace for many that work here. It has been the constant and the normalcy that so many of us were needing this last year.

And much of this, if not all of it, was due to our great staff and you, our amazing customers.

It’s our turn to give back now. In a perfect world, we would like to shake every single one of your hands, look you in the eye, and thank you personally. I cannot state how grateful we are to you all. From the bottom of my heart. Though I cannot meet every one of you in person and personally thank you, I need to give back.

This week at all Fisherman’s Market locations we are doing two things. First off, we are offering 15% off everything in the stores and online. It’s not much and it’s not as personalized as I would like it to be, but we wanted to make sure everyone was included in this, so we chose everything that we sell in hopes that each of you could find something you enjoy, whether it be tuna, halibut or canned salmon. If we’ve got it in-store, you get it for 15% off.

Secondly, and I really love this one, each store has selected, collectively amongst the entire staff, a charity of their choice to work with. For this entire week, Fisherman’s Market is donating 5% of the total sales to charities picked by the stores. We are not asking for you to donate. We are donating on your behalf. And we are very proud to do so.

Dave and his crew in Nelson have selected the Salmo Streamkeepers Watershed Society. Gina and her crew have selected the Kamloops Food Bank. Jodie and the crew in Kelowna will be donating for you to the Canadian Mental Health Association. Katie and her crew in West Vancouver are donating to the Vancouver Aquarium adopt a whale program. And finally, Emmas and her crew in Gibsons are working with the One Straw Society.

I am proud of all my crew across the province for these selections and am very excited for all of this to come to fruition. We will also post more information about the charities themselves in the upcoming days.

I hope you all can take advantage of this opportunity to both save money and more importantly, pay it forward to these very worthy charities.

In closing; a year has passed in these unprecedented times and I really hope you are all doing well. I hope your friends and families are all healthy and happy. I hope you have been able to stay in touch as best as possible with grandkids and others that may be far away from you. And I hope you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Deepest thanks from me and my boys, as well as my business partners Geoff, Cory and Katie.

Thanks again,

Adam
