Fisherman’s Market haddock is wild, and sustainably caught off the Atlantic Coast of Canada. Our portions are loin cut, 4oz each and are boneless and skinless. Haddock is a lean protein-rich with minerals such as iron, potassium, selenium, magnesium, and zinc, it has a mild flavour with light, delicate flakes.

Haddock is a lean white fish with a mild and sweet taste and medium flakes. The texture is firm yet tender after cooking. Haddock’s flavour lends itself to recipes beyond what it is known for (fish and chips) – it’s great in soup and stews and can also substitute cod in most cod recipes.

Fishmonger tips: Cod recipes can often be used for Haddock. To differentiate haddock from cod, there’s a thin layer of connective tissue covering the flesh.

Haddock is a non-oily fish, if you are after a low calorie and fat fish, it’s a great option. It’s also a great source of Omega-3, is rich in vitamins B12 and B6, niacin, as well as vitamins E, A, and C. It is a good source of phosphorus, potassium, selenium, and other trace minerals.

Fun fish facts: haddock is a member of the cod family and they prefer to live deep along the ocean floor, around 200-500 meters deep.
