BC Commercial Fishing week came about from the love and pride our company has for commercial fishing and the industry that ensures the quality of the catch all the way to our tables.
…stories of heroism, humour and strife. The stuff that makes you fall in love with being in the middle of the ocean chasing after that next big catch.
Our goal is to bring you, our customers, closer to the source of where your fish comes from and also to have that source educate all of us, to help us make informed decisions on what products to buy and why. By having a deeper understanding of the industry, we will be smarter consumers that understand the true impact our purchases make on this industry and to the environment that surrounds it.
British Columbia is on the forefront of sustainable fishing with more and more advancements being made to continue to improve fishing on our coast.
The west coast has some amazing stories to tell and we want to share them with you. We want the fisherman’s story, and not just the stories of sustainability and good fishing seasons, but also the stories of heroism, humour and strife. The stuff that makes you fall in love with being in the middle of the ocean chasing after that next big catch.
We look forward to expanding this event year over year, working with more partners, more institutions and more fishermen to help inform more and more people of what truly happens to our seafood on its journey from the ocean to the plate.
